Photo review of the Mencendorf House museum located at Grēcinieku 18. The museum shows everyday life and traditions of citizens. The house is an architectural monument of XVII-XVIII centuries, the branch museum of history of Riga and Navigation.

The Mencendorf House was built in 1695 as a residential house with a store on the ground floor. It was the oldest pharmacy in Riga. Legend says that Abraham Kunze first prepared the recipe of the Riga balsam here. In 1884 the house was bought by a merchant Mentzendorff August and his family had lived in the building until 1939.
