Toftemo is located next to the E6 road, just 2 km north of the town of Dovre, and 10 km to the south of Dombås. The hotel was originally built in 1820, as part of Tofte Kongsgård, a royal estate from the medieval period. The Norwegian king Haakon VII, queen Maud and crown prince Olav stayed a night here during their kings journey in 1906.
Toftemo is situated right on the bank of the Gudbrandslågen river, surrounded by mountains and it offers lodging for families in hotel rooms, cottages/cabins and a camping site, with facilities for cooking, laundry and 150 electrical outlets. The café can seat up to 75 people and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. During summer, the outdoor recreation area for kids with a heated swimming pool and outdoor furniture is open (it underwent renovation in 2012).
Toftemo is dog friendly. Guests of the hotel have access to marked trails, the area offers good fishing opportunities.
