The Museum of America is one of the museums in Madrid, which offers free admission (on Sundays after 14:00 and on Thursdays the entrance is free for kids and adults). The exposition tells visitors about the life and culture of the pre-Columbian civilizations - the Maya, the Aztecs, the Incas, etc. The collection includes figurines and statues of Indian deities, gold jewelry, national costumes and truly unusual exhibits: for example, the Mayan sacrifice schedule - an ancient manuscript of more than 6 meters long, as well as a real Indian mummy.
Workshops for schoolchildren and families with children (in Spanish) take place in the museum regularly.
