This is a photo review of the ocean shore in North and South Carolina, USA. Photo and text: Oksana Philippova. The Outer Banks (also known as OBX) is 320 kilometers long line of narrow offshore bars along the coast in North Carolina. Tourists can stay overnight in a hotel or in camping. White sand beaches are considered one of the best in the world. The islands are connected with each other by ferries. Salt wetlands with soft-shelled crabs are located between islands and the continent (one can try these crabs in one of the local restaurants).

We traveled by car: started the trip in Riley SK, drove along the chain of bridges and down the narrow highway connecting the islands and finally got back to the continent. In Wilmington we visited the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA. Myrtle Beach resort in South Carolina was the last point of our trip.

The high season is from May to September.
