Images of the St. Nicholas of the Cat Monastery at Akrotiri, Cyprus. The admission to the living area of the nunnery is forbidden. Visitors can visit a church, buy religious souvenirs and watch local cats - their ancestors were brought to the island from Egypt and Asia Minor to fight snakes, and monks took care of them. More than 100 cats lived in the monastery at the time this shooting.
