Rakvere is a town in the North of Estonia.  Rakvere has a castle, which was built by the Danes in early 13th century. Castle visitors can learn about the life of knights, go in theatrical excursions (led by guides in traditional costumes), practice archery (with bow and arrow), visit the museum, the torture chamber (suggested for guests over 11 y.o.) and the alchemist's laboratory, try themselves as blacksmiths and potters.

The castle has a restaurant serving traditional Estonian food, made according to old recipes. Every day - at 12 o'clock - the castle guard shoots a cannon with a blank cartridge. It is possible to climb to the roof of the fortress and walk through the galleries of the fortress wall.
