The Hungarian National Museum was opened in 1802.
Permanent expositions are dedicated to the history of Hungary since its foundation until the end of the XX century. They feature archaeological finds, household items, clothes, coins, weapon, furniture, musical instruments, jewelry and other objects. Visitors can also see the royal robes of Stephen I of Hungary and portraits of kings from the Arpads dynasty.
Excursions and interactive programmes for kids are held at the museum.
