London Sewing Machine Museum in Wandsworth, London, UK 1 196
Show on map
The London Sewing Machine Museum is located in an old factory warehouse building. Here visitors can see sewing machines of various sizes, shapes and eras - more than 600 pieces from the personal collection of Mr. Ray Rushton, the managing director of Wimbledon Sewing Machine. Most of machines can be tested in action. The most valuable exhibits are placed under glass: among them there is a sewing machine, which was presented as a gift at the wedding of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter.
The museum is open every first Saturday of the month from 14:00 to 17:00. There is no entrance fee; but donations to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution or Leukaemia Research charities are appreciated.
