The Himeji Castle, also known as the White Heron Castle, is located in a city with the same name, about a 1.5 hours drive from Osaka. The complex has 83 buildings, and almost all of them are made of wood. The Himeji Castle is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of the oldest surviving castles in Japan and many movies were filmed here.

These photos were taken on a family trip to Japan in 2017. The route passed through such cities of Japan as Kyoto, Tokyo, Himeji and the Miyajima Island.
