Riihimäki is known as the center of Finland's glass industry and artistry. The Riihimäki Glass Museum of Finland is a state-run art gallery, which tells the story the history of glass (4,000 years long), as well as the story of the Finnish glass traditions (300 years long).
The Glass Museum of Riihimäki was opened in 1965. Along with the historical exposition, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions of Finnish and foreign masters. Guests of the museum can see all kinds of jewelry and collectible rarities made from glass, as well as learn about the process of making glass.
The museum is located in between Lahti, Tampere and Helsinki.
