The Maritime Centre Vellamo tells about the maritime history of Finland and the history of Kotka. The exhibitions of the Maritime Museum of Finland and the Museum of Kymenlaakso are interactiveand suitable for visitors of all ages.
Visitors can book excursions e.g. in Russian or Finnish (for groups up to 25 persons; booking by phone or by email).
Vellamo also houses restaurant Laakonki, museum shop Plootu and conference facilities as well the Information Centre Vellamo offering library and archival services. For children under 18 there is no admission fee. On Wednesdays from 17:00 till 20:00 the entrance is free for all.
Vellamo is closed on some of the public holidays. These special dates can be found at Vellamo’s website.
