The Museum of South Karelia (Etelä-Karjalan museo) is located in the old part of the Linnoitus Fortress, in buildings dated back to the 19th century, which used to serve as Artillery Warehouses.
The museum presents historical exhibits of the region of South Karelia, the Karelian Isthmus and the vicinities of Vyborg (former second largest city of Finland, now located on Russian territory). The exposition is dedicated to the ancient and modern history of the region, to the crafts and history of the Fortress during the periods of Swedish and Russian rule.
Admission is free for visitors under 16 year of age.

Working hours:
January 2 - June 8, and August 26 - December 30: Monday - closed, Tuesday-Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00;
Jube 9 - August 24: Monday-Friday from 10:00 to 18:00, Saturday and Sunday - from 11:00 to 17:00.
