Show on map
The Island of Örö has been a closed military fortress for over 100 years. The island became open for visitors in 2015 and has two walking trails, each about 5 km long, a guest harbour for 70 boats, a cafe, a restaurant, a shop, and two saunas.
Families can be accommodated in hotel and hostel rooms, as well as cottages all year round. It is also possible to stay on the island in a tent. The island's restaurant has regular opening hours from June to August and can offer service on request at other times. Guided tours take place in the summer, they are normally held in Finnish, but English-language tours can also be arranged.
It is possible to get to Örö by own boat, by a taxi boat from Hanko or Kasnäs, or via a ferry or boat line from Kasnäs. Örö is open all-year-round.
